Lessons: (included with your admission into the dance)
6:30-7:00pm: Introductory West Coast Swing with Scott & Veronica Stewart
7:00-7:45pm: Novice/Intermediate lesson with Steve Ryan: Learn whip variations & strut your stuff with Steve
7:45-8:30pm: Advanced lesson with Steve: Whip variation changing slot and accelerate... accelerate... (I can get there in 1 beat, can you?)
Cost: $10.00 per person for lesson & dance, $8.00 per person for dance only
Open dancing from 8:30-11:30pm to your favorite music for Swing, Hustle, Nightclub 2-Step, Cha Cha and Country 2-Step.
Warm up for Swing Niagara, dance in the West Coast Swing Jack & Jill (Sat. June 14th) - winners each receive a weekend pass to Swing Niagara. Contest is only for those in the Newcomer & Novice categories.
Steve is a professional dancer who has been dancing for more than 25 years, and has won numerous dance competitions throughout that time in jazz, theatre arts, hustle &, west coast swing. He also won a full scholarship to the studios of Alvin Ailey in NYC. He is an advanced level dancer on the national swing circuit. Recently he has won first places in advanced WCS at The Big Apple Country Dance Festival & the World Hustle Dance Championship both in 2005. He also danced a feature roll in the Sleeping Beauty Ballet in February 2005. He has choreographed many swing dance routines that were performed by class members at local dances and at the Syracuse Symphony. He spent 7 months in 2003 training in Los Angeles with national champions. He's a firm believer in strong technique. He also just finished a teaching tour in New Zealand and Australia in 2007.

Directions:
From the East -- Take I-90 West towards Buffalo, go through tolls and take the very first exit (# 50) to merge onto I-290 West (towards Niagara Falls), exit at Delaware Ave North, follow Delaware Ave. across the canal and the Elks Lodge is the first building on the corner on your right (corner of Sweeney and Main St. - Delaware turns into Main once you go over the canal).
From the West -- Take I-190 North towards Niagara Falls, merge onto I-290 East, take Elmwood exit (exit # 1), keep left at the fork to go left on Knock Rd., go left on Delaware Ave, follow Delaware Ave across the canal and the Elks Lodge is the first building on the corner on your right (corner of Sweeney and Main St. - Delaware turns into Main once you go over the canal).
Parking: Make a right onto Sweeney and left into the parking lot directly behind the Elks building. Overflow parking is in the parking lot next to the Elks parking lot on Sweeney.
